Farmani Group published the first Los Angeles based fashion magazine, VUE, in 1985. After the success of VUE, Farmani Group founder, Hossein Farmani, decided to combine his passion for photography and publishing by launching FotoFolio in 1986, promoting the work of contemporary photographers across the country. FotoFolio won numerous awards and is in the permanent collection of The Library of Congress.
In 1992, Farmani Group established Farmani - Yamanouchi design studio, a leading marketing agency focusing on fashion catalogues and consumer electronics industry design.
Since then, Farmani Group has developed a growing portfolio of projects and companies.
Lucie Foundation is an organization whose three-tiered mission is to honour master photographers, discover and cultivate emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography worldwide. Lucie Foundation presents a variety of programs throughout the year, including its signature program, The Lucie Awards, Month of Photography LA (MOPLA), Snapshot, Freshlook, and Lucie Talks.
Founded in 2003, The Lucie Awards is the premier annual event honouring the greatest achievements in photography. The photography community from countries around the globe pay tribute to the most outstanding photographic achievements at the yearly Gala Awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York.

The “Prix de la Photographie, Paris” (P×3) strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and to introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.
The Paris Photography Prize was founded in 2007, and has since become one of the most prestigious photography awards in Europe with over 3000 work showcases. Following Arles Photo Festival, PX3 annual exhibition takes place in the heart of Paris attracting International Photographers and Curators. Since its successful launch, PX3 has attracted major talents including Magnum photographers to submit their work to a prestigious panel of Jurors.
The International Design Awards (IDA) exists to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design. IDA aspires to draw attention to the iconoclasm of design worldwide, conceptualizing and producing great work. Farmani Group assembled IDA in 2007 which has now become one of the leading Design Awards in America, awarding and promoting hundreds of designers each year.
The European Product Design Award™ recognizes the efforts of talented international product designers who aim to improve our daily lives with their practical, well-thought-out creations. EPDA shares their innovative and ground-breaking products with the world. Launched in 2016, the inaugural event was held at the European Parliament.
Founded in 2006, London International Creative Competition is a vehicle for facilitating contact between uniquely talented artists and an international audience. With over a thousand entries each year from across the globe, the London International Creative Competition winners represent the World’s Best Creative minds.
The mission of the ArchitectureMasterPrize is to advance the appreciation and promotion of quality architectural design worldwide. The ArchitectureMasterPrize celebrates creativity and innovation in the fields of architectural design, landscape architecture, and interior design. The launch in 2017 at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York City exceeded all expectations with over 300 architects and interior designers coming from around the world to celebrate the first edition of the ArchitectureMasterPrize.
Focus On AIDS is America’s largest and most prestigious fundraiser auction of rare, vintage, and contemporary photographs in support of AIDS research, care and education. Founded in 1987, our twelve previous auctions have raised over $3 million, of which all net proceeds have been contributed to leading HIV/AIDS initiatives around the globe.
Our organization is completely volunteer driven and is reliant on the generosity and resources of the greater photography community. Our auctions benefit our own Focus on AIDS initiatives (including a hospital in Mysore, India and an orphanage/shelter in Tanzania) as well as other global and local AIDS organizations with proven records for outstanding research, education, and rehabilitation.
Founded in 2014, the MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL FOTO AWARDS’ mission is to recognize, reward and promote talented photographers from around the world and introduce them to the creative community in Russia.
The increase of general interest in photography and fine art makes Moscow a prime location to showcase the work of professional and amateur photographers. MIFA has been reaching the creative community of Moscow for the past 4 years, and has been received with much enthusiasm. The MIFA professional jury select 40 photographers’ work for the annual exhibition, and promoting over 300 winners’ works.
Tokyo International Foto Awards, founded in 2016, commends and promotes outstanding photography from all corners of the globe. TIFA connects photographers with the creative community in Tokyo, Japan, to provide them with an excellent platform to present their work to a new market. In its inaugural year, TIFA was exhibited in Shibuya Cultural Center – the heart of the Tokyo art community, and the prestigious Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.

The Lucie Photo Book Prize is a juried competition open to a diversity of submissions – from published to prototype to hand-made books. The awards are presented to photographers, editors, curators or publishers who have created such projects anywhere in the world within the last 24 months of our public call. The Lucie Foundation is proud to offer two cash prizes to the top two finalists for their outstanding work – one Traditional $3,000 cash prize and one Independent $2,000 cash prize.
